About
Atrium Design Construction Ltd is a one-stop full-service contractor for any home renovation or new construction. We are recognized for our ability to work under the small access properties in Downtown Toronto and also experienced dealing with big projects in the outskirts of the city. Atrium Design Construction Ltd was founded by Carlos Salgado, an interior designer and veteran renovator with experience working in Miami Florida homes for 10 years and in Toronto homes for another 15 years.
We carry all the equipment and all the sub-trades necessary for any job. We have associates and subcontractors who assist us in making sure your project is done correctly, following regulation, safely and on budget.

The Atrium way
- The client has a desire to renovate part of his house and reaches out to us.
- We translate the client's idea into an actionable work order, including estimates, itineraries, city permits and a list of all trades to be employed in the project.
- We take care of all the trades ourselves with our in house professional personnel and our affiliate trades. We work along with licensed electricians, qualified machine operators, experienced handy men, among others. (We usually do 90% of the work ourselves, the other 10% is done by specialty trades which we deal with directly).
- We take the client through the exciting journey of a home renovation. We explain the process as it unfolds day by day.
- We make sure the project is finished with the upmost level of excellence, on time and in budget. We aren't satisfied until the client is satisfied.

Kitchen Renovation
Your kitchen is the heart of your home and usually the most costly to renovate. There are many moving parts in the kitchen, all depending on the size and layout of the kitchen. We have renovated entire homes based on the initial kitchen renovation. At Atrium, we understand that functionality goes hand-by-hand with usability. The final product has to look as good as it works. We explore kitchen ideas with our customers and do not start a job until we are sure the client will be satisfied when the renovation is complete.
We like open concept kitchens because they make the kitchen (and hence the home) feel larger. We pride ourselves in the small details. For example, seamless counter tops, hidden LED lights, kitchen islands with fully functional sinks and dinner space, we have done it all. Bathroom Renovation
Bathrooms are one of the most used rooms in a home. We have designed and renovated countless bathrooms in the GTA. From simple aesthetic upgrades of old bathrooms to complete bathroom expansions. We always recommend products that raise the value of the property.
Some bathrooms, especially in Downtown Toronto, have a reputation of being too small and uncomfortable. We are able to replace the entire plumbing and electrical wiring in order to create a larger and better bathroom layout. Do you want to add a shower to your one piece washroom? Basement Renovation
Whether you are looking to finish your basement on a new home or to renovate your existing basement, we can help.
Entertainment Basements. We have created beautiful open concept basements for clients that like to go downstairs to relax on their free time. We are able to re-wire the electrical outlets, remove walls and upgrade the lighting system. We have built entire entertainment rooms, installed large TVs, speakers and minibars. Because we do both the design and the renovation, we are able to hide all the wires behind the walls and floors while maximizing the layout of the rooms.
Storage Basements. Some clients just want somewhere to put their belongings. Depending on what the client wants to store, we design cabinets, shelving and even freezing rooms. Let us know what you want in your basements and we can make it happen.
Living Basements. We can create a separate entrance to your basement. We take care of all the city permits. We install new bathrooms and kitchens, even when there is no existing plumbing. By being the ones designing and building, we can make sure the cost of the renovation stays low.
Exterior Renovation
Nothing adds more value to a home than having a newly renovated front porch or backyard. At Atrium, we know exterior renovation like no one else. We can restore old front porches, build custom stone patios, wood decks and even concrete paths. We have replaced brick walls with large stone walls. We can repair old stucco walls and aluminum siding as well.
Downtown Toronto homes are known for being too close to each other and not having much room to work around them. We have experienced working on limited-access homes. We have the proper equipment such as small scaffolding and mini excavators to be able to deliver the best work at an affordable cost.
Demolition
We pride ourselves in doing the best work we can with every client. We are not your typical handyman contractor that just patches up repairs quickly and cheaply. We like to remove unnecessary walls, ceiling and floors so we can then build on clean surfaces to maximize living space and minimize future problems. Doing a proper demolition allows us to see potential structural deficiencies on the property.

Some of Our Work
Grand Bend Ontario
This was our first project in the town of Grand Bend Ontario which is located about 200 kms west of Toronto. This client is a special client. We had already done work for him in the city of Toronto and it was a pleasure for us to be invited to work on his cottage as well.
Rusholme Dr Toronto
This project near the Dufferin Mall started as an emergency call. There were carpenter ants on the roof eating the structure of the back of the house slowly. We had to act quickly.
